Historical Little Village Event

The neighborhood also includes the Little Village Lawndale High School Campus, four small schools that are the result of a 19-day hunger strike held by community members to pressure the board of education to fulfill their commitment to build a new local high school since the others High schools in the area were heavely populated. This event occured  in 1997 and successful aided the creation of a new school.
